      Grades 1-4 Mindfulness is an important practice for one's emotional and physical health, and this robust offering from the Mindful Spaces series (2 titles) provides children (and their caregivers) with a well-curated mix of yoga poses, breathing exercises, activities, and crafts. Relatable fictional scenarios help illuminate the benefits of specific mindful behaviors, and each set of instructions ends with a "How this activity helps" explanation. The whimsical illustrations are nicely aligned with the text, showing youngsters engaged in such practices as healthy eating, taking sensory walks, and making art. A final section titled "My Mindful Journey" helps guide readers through the creation of their own practice for achieving calm and happiness throughout the day. Children not yet ready for Whitney Stewart's Mindful Me (2018) will be well served by this zen guide.
